The Avisoft Bioacoustics electret ultrasound microphone is a cost-effective model that employs an electret capsule by Emkay (Knowles). It is very compact, durable (no need to replace diaphragms) and is also relatively immune against humidity. The moderate sensitivity and relatively poor flatness of the frequency response is still acceptable for many applications.
