Spectrogram window : Display > Level Display Mode
|
|
This dialog box selects the sound level display mode on the spectrogram display.
The available options are as follows:
Peak Level The sound level is referenced to the peak amplitude (values are 3 dB higher than the RMS level).
RMS Level The sound level is referenced to the RMS amplitude (values are 3 dB lower than the Peak Level).
Spectrum Level The sound level is displayed in spectrum level units (= RMS Level -10 log(BW)). The spectrum level representation is useful for evaluating noise signals because the measurements are independent of the analysis bandwidth (the measurements are normalized to an analysis bandwidth of 1 Hz). Do not use this option for evaluating tonal (harmonic) vocalizations.
