SASLab Manual

Main window : File > Specials > UltrasoundGate DIO > Insert timecode / pulse train / single pulse...

This command allows synthesizing more complex pulse trains for synchronization purposes.

The available options are as follows:

mode :

SMPTE Linear timecode : Linear timecode compatible with the corresponding industry standard.
LANC (RS232) timecode : Timecode encoded as RS232 9600 boud serial protocol according to the SONY LANC (Control P) interface protocol.
Pulse Train : Simple pulse train with a specific interval and duty cycle.
Random Pulse Train : Pulse train with random on and off periods.
Single Start Pulse : A single pulse of the specified duration will be inserted at the start of the file.
Ramp (sawtooth) : Starting at zero, the sample values will be incremented by 1 LSB for each new sample, creating a linear ramp or sawtooth. That way the individual samples represent the sample index of the sample, which can be useful for debugging purposes.

The channel listbox selects the channel into which the signal should be synthesized. The frames/s listbox selects the desired frame rate.

The start time field defines the desired start time expressed in hh:mm:ss:ff.

The user bits field allows to define user data that will be embedded into the timecode. The ASCII option will interpret the entered string as 8 bit ASCII characters. Otherwise, it is interpreted as a 32 bit integer number (hexadecimal coding can be specified by the 0x suffix).

The two on time edit fields (from/to) define the range of the random on time in the Random Pulse Train mode.

The two off time edit fields (from/to) define the range of the random off time in the Random Pulse Train mode.

If the option relative to marker is activated, the start time will be assigned to the start of the current marker cursor.
